Willow Haven K9 Retreat

Willow Haven K9 Retreat is a small, owner-operated kennel at 1402 Durham Rd. that offers dog boarding in Piedmont, SC, along with daycare. The owner lives on site, and a single caretaker looks after every dog that stays.

What makes Willow Haven different?

The biggest difference is who does the work. There's no rotating crew. One caretaker looks after every dog, and that person also lives on the property. Owners deal with the same person at drop-off and pickup, and dogs see the same familiar face every time they come back.

The setting is rural and calm. The property is a lightly wooded acre that is fenced and cross-fenced. Dogs go out for several play times a day in a fenced 3/4-acre yard.

What are the boarding options?

There are two main styles of accommodation. The Quiet Side Suites are air-conditioned and heated, with no outside dog door, so dogs stay indoors. The Indoor/Outdoor Deluxe Kennels have a dog door that opens onto a covered run.

• Quiet Side Suites with air conditioning and heat
• Indoor/Outdoor Deluxe Kennels with a covered run
• Several play times a day in the fenced yard
• Medication given when needed
• Bedding, bowls, treats and toys provided

Owners don't need to pack bedding. Any bedding a dog does use comes home washed.

What should owners know before booking?

Boarding costs $32 to $37 per night. Willow Haven offers a multi-dog discount and a 10% military discount. It's open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 AM to 8:00 PM and closed on Sunday.

Every dog must be up to date on vaccinations, so it helps to have records ready before calling. To check availability or ask questions, call Willow Haven K9 Retreat at 864-402-0364 or visit its website.
