The Bark Knoxville

The Bark Knoxville is a dog boarding and dog daycare facility at 601 Lamar Street in Knoxville, TN, built around an indoor and outdoor dog park with an on-site beer garden for owners. Dogs can stay overnight in private boarding suites or spend the day in cage-free daycare. Training and grooming are offered in the same building.

What does boarding at The Bark include?

Boarders stay in private suites that range from 200 to 400 square feet, so there are no rows of kennel runs. Each day includes leashed walks and yard time. Classical music plays in the suites to keep the mood calm, and owners get a report card by email every day.

How is it different from a typical kennel?

Size is part of the answer. The facility covers more than 18,000 square feet and has play space both indoors and outside. The business describes its approach in terms of socialization, comfort and a calmer stay, and the private suites and daily routine reflect that.

The beer garden is the other big difference. Owners can have a drink while their dog plays in the park, so the place works as a neighborhood hangout as well as a boarding stop.

What should owners know before booking?
