Roots K9

Roots K9 is a dog training business in Norman, Oklahoma that also offers in-home overnight boarding for dogs who have completed one of its training programs. If you're looking for dog boarding in Norman, know this first: it is not a drop-in kennel. Boarding is open to program graduates and is meant to keep their training on track while the family is away.

What does Roots K9 offer?

Training is the core of the business. That covers board and train programs, obedience work, behavior modification, puppy training, and off-leash training. One-on-one owner coaching is part of the approach, and the site puts a lot of weight on teaching people to lead their own dogs. Dogs that finish a program can then board in the trainer's home.

• In-home overnight boarding for program graduates
• Structured walks, off-leash exploration, and group socialization
• A dedicated kennel with an indestructible pad and fresh water
• Medication administration and care for special needs at no extra cost
• Lifetime phone and email support

What is a boarding stay like?

Days follow a set structure. Dogs move between walks, off-leash time outdoors, and group socialization, so they're calm and tired by evening. Each dog gets its own kennel, and housing is cleaned and sanitized between stays.

Special behavioral, physical, and medical needs are handled at no extra charge. That's a real draw for owners whose dogs take medication or are still working through behavior problems.
