Modern Dog

Modern Dog is a dog daycare at 415 Gettysburg St in Pittsburgh, serving the East End around Point Breeze. Dogs spend the day in indoor group play, and the business also offers neighborhood walks, transportation, and in-home care for cats and small animals. For owners looking for dog daycare in Pittsburgh's East End, it handles most weekday pet care needs through one local team.

What services does Modern Dog offer?

Daycare is the core of the business. Its website describes an active, playful day meant to send dogs home happy and tired. Beyond the playroom, the services include:

• Indoor daycare play on weekdays
• Dog walks of 30 or 60 minutes, plus quick potty breaks
• Pickup and drop-off within about a 2-mile radius of the facility
• Medication administration for dogs that need it
• In-home visits for cats and small animals

What makes it different?

The range of care is the main draw. A household with both a dog and a cat can use one neighborhood business for daycare, midday walks, and in-home feeding visits. The transportation option helps owners who can't fit a daycare drop-off into the workday commute. The site has a relaxed, slightly goofy tone that fits a neighborhood operation.

New clients get a free meet-and-greet trial day, and their first day is free. That gives owners a low-risk way to see how their dog handles group play before paying anything.
