Big Easy Dog Daze & Café

Big Easy Dog Daze & Café is a dog boarding and daycare facility at 12 McCandless Ave in Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood. It also offers grooming, and veterinarians are on site through an adjacent animal hospital.

What services does it offer?

Overnight stays, daytime play and grooming all happen at one location. Dogs of every size are welcome, from small breeds up to giant ones. Cats can board too, in a room set aside just for cat condos.

• Dog boarding, including private suites and a senior suite option
• Dog daycare with three indoor and outdoor play areas
• Swimming in the summer months
• Grooming services
• Medication administration during stays

What sets it apart from other kennels?

The main difference is medical care. Vets work at the animal hospital next door, so the facility offers medical boarding for high-maintenance cases. Staff can also give medications during a stay. That makes it a practical option for owners of older dogs or dogs managing a health condition. The kennel describes its approach as personalized attention in a fun, stable and safe setting.

What does boarding cost?

Boarding runs $60 to $90 per night, depending on the type of stay. Owners with more than one pet can get a multiple-pet discount. Long stays are cheaper as well, with a 20% discount after 30 consecutive days.

When is it open, and how do you book?

Hours are 6:00 AM to 7:30 PM Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, and 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday. Booking is done online. Every dog needs up-to-date vaccinations before its stay. Questions can go to 412-360-8214 or dogdaze.cafe@gmail.com.
