Cold Nose Lodge

Cold Nose Lodge is a dog boarding and dog daycare facility at 235 West Penn Ave. in Alburtis, PA, serving owners across the Lehigh Valley. Dogs board in private suites and spend their days in supervised play groups. The lodge also offers training, grooming, and cat boarding.

What does a boarding stay look like?

A stay here works differently from a traditional kennel. Dogs spend most of the day playing with other dogs, then rest in a private suite with a toddler bed or cot. Dogs from the same family can share a suite.

The building has eight-zone heating and air conditioning. Outside, there are 7,600 square feet of fenced play areas. Staff can also give medications during a stay.

What services does the lodge offer?

• Cage-free dog daycare with indoor and outdoor play
• Private boarding suites for dogs
• Positive reinforcement dog training
• Play School, an enrichment program added to a dog's day
• Grooming, plus cat boarding in private condos

How is Cold Nose Lodge different?

Training is central to how the lodge runs. It describes its approach as trust-based, built on positive reinforcement, redirection, and luring instead of fear. The founder is a Fear Free Certified Professional. The lodge also holds the Certified Professional Animal Care Operator credential through PACCC.

Cats get their own space as well. The Cattery has HEPA filtration and its own HVAC system, so its air stays separate from the dog areas. Each cat stays in a private condo and gets one-on-one play and snuggle time with staff every day.
