Barks and Rec

Barks and Rec is a dog boarding and daycare facility at 1057 West 5th Ave in Columbus, Ohio. Along with overnight stays and daytime play, it offers grooming and training too.

What sets it apart is the mission behind the business. Barks and Rec runs as a non-profit that supports workers with different abilities and moms. Choosing it for your dog also helps back inclusive employment in Columbus.

What services does Barks and Rec offer?

The services cover most of what a dog owner needs, from a single day out to a longer stay:

• Overnight dog boarding
• Dog daycare
• Grooming
• Training

Because grooming and training are offered alongside boarding, a dog can get cleaned up or work on manners with the same team that cares for it during a stay.

What is the approach like?

The kennel describes its setting as nurturing and built on compassion. Its team aims to take on new challenges and treat mistakes as chances to learn. That attitude ties back to its focus on the bond between people and animals, and on helping workers with different abilities grow on the job.
