The Dog Stop

The Dog Stop is a cage-free, home-style kennel at 70 Newburyport Turnpike in Rowley, MA, offering dog daycare and overnight boarding. Dogs spend their days playing together in a group and are never kept in crates. For owners comparing dog boarding in Rowley, the main draw is that setup: no cages, and people on the property around the clock.

What services does The Dog Stop offer?

The Dog Stop takes dogs for daycare and for overnight stays. It is open 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays, which helps owners with irregular work schedules or holiday travel plans. Care is provided on the premises 24 hours a day by experienced professionals, and the owner's residence is on site.

Key features include:

• No cages or crates
• Fenced-in sandy play yard that is easy on the joints
• Climate-controlled indoor play space
• Splashing pool for warm days
• Solid Gold dog food

What makes it different from a traditional kennel?

Most of the difference comes down to how dogs spend their time. Instead of being crated, dogs share a fenced yard and an indoor play area with socialized playmates and plenty of toys. The sandy surface is meant to be easy on joints, and the pool gives dogs a way to cool off on warm days. When the weather turns, the climate-controlled indoor space lets play continue inside.

This arrangement tends to suit social dogs who enjoy company. Owners of dogs that are anxious or selective around other dogs should talk through the group setting with the staff before booking.
