Tall Tails Training and Boarding

Tall Tails Training and Boarding offers dog boarding, daycare, and training at 3343 Friedens Road in Slatington, PA, on a farm property in the Lehigh Valley. Dogs of every size are accepted, from small breeds to giant ones. The kennel's website lists boarding rates of $20 to $55 per night.

What does a boarding stay look like?

Each dog gets its own indoor/outdoor accommodation, and the kennel uses full-spectrum lighting and plays soothing music. Staff take dogs on on-leash hand walks across the property's 58 acres. Dogs can also play in an enclosed ball area called the Speed Zone and in an agility play park. In summer, there's a puppy pool and a sprinkler splash for cooling off.

What makes Tall Tails different?

Training is at the heart of the business. The owners and trainers hold National K9 Training Center certification. Their site describes an approach that teaches both the dog and the owner, with the goal of building a strong relationship between them. That behavioral focus carries over into boarding, where staff aim to keep each dog's stay safe and relaxed.

A certified Reiki practitioner is also on staff and offers Reiki treatments. It's an unusual extra for a farm kennel. Owners of nervous or older dogs may want to ask about it.

Can they handle medications and special diets?

Yes. Both medication administration and special diets are listed among the kennel's services. It's worth going over your dog's routine in detail when you call to book.
