Colonial Kennels

Colonial Kennels offers dog boarding and daycare in Whitehall, PA, from its location at 3127 S Church St. The kennel is built around supervised playgroups, and every dog joins at least four indoor and outdoor groups a day. It also boards cats and other small pets, which helps households with more than one kind of animal.

What makes this kennel different?

Playgroups are the main focus here. They come at no additional charge, because the kennel treats exercise and socialization as part of basic care. Staff match each dog to a group that fits its temperament, so shy or nervous dogs aren't simply put in with everyone else. Owners can follow along through the daily photos and videos posted to the kennel's Facebook and Instagram pages.

The owner lives on the premises, so someone is close by for after-hours care. That matters most for dogs that need medication on a set schedule.

What services and amenities are offered?

• Executive Suites with a couch, chairs, and attached outdoor yards
• Double-wide and standard kennels with private outdoor runs
• Climate-controlled indoor play space plus outdoor areas
• Medication administration, special diets, and hand or spoon feeding
• Daycare in addition to overnight boarding

What does boarding cost, and when is it open?

The kennel's website lists overnight boarding at $48 to $98 per night. Hours are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Saturday hours run from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sunday hours from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The kennel is closed on Wednesdays.

Bookings are taken by phone at (610) 770-8807, and dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations. For owners in Whitehall who want a social, play-focused stay with private sleeping space, Colonial Kennels is worth a call.
