Prestonwood Kennels

Prestonwood Kennels is a pet resort at 13302 Schroeder Rd. in Houston, TX, offering dog boarding, dog daycare, grooming, and training. It sits in the Willowbrook area of Northwest Houston, and it also boards cats and exotic pets.

What is boarding like at Prestonwood Kennels?

The kennel runs two boarding facilities on a 5-acre campus. Dogs get outdoor access and space to exercise on the acreage, along with indoor play areas. The boarding spaces are climate controlled, and there is an on-site dog pool, which helps a lot during a Houston summer.

The kennel describes its approach as treating each pet like a valued guest. In practice, that means pets eat their own food from home. Staff can also handle special diets and give medication, so dogs with routines or health needs can keep them while boarding.

What sets it apart?

• 24-hour surveillance and round-the-clock supervision
• The owner lives on the premises
• Chemical-free cleaning
• Specialty boarding for pets with unique temperaments, plus exotic pets
• Grooming, training, and daycare at the same location

Few boarding facilities have the owner living on the property, and here that comes on top of 24-hour surveillance. The specialty boarding may also appeal to owners whose dogs need a bit more care than a standard kennel run offers. Having grooming and training on site means a dog can get a bath or some training during a longer stay.
