Pooch Pawsitive

Pooch Pawsitive is a training-focused dog daycare at 10 Fairmount Ave. in East Providence, RI, built around puppy socialization and positive reinforcement training. Owners comparing dog daycare in East Providence will find a place where play and learning happen in the same day.

What does Pooch Pawsitive offer?

The center pairs daycare with structured training, so dogs keep practicing good manners while they play. Its Puppy Academy runs as either a half-day or full-day program for young dogs still learning the basics.

• Dog daycare with group play
• Puppy Academy half-day and full-day programs
• Puppy socialization and dog training classes
• Play-and-train sessions that mix exercise with skill work
• Outdoor play on artificial turf

How is the facility set up?

The building covers 6,000 square feet, and the outdoor area adds 1,200 square feet of artificial turf for play. Staffing runs at about 8 to 10 dogs per staff member, which is a high ratio for group daycare. Cleaning relies on veterinarian-grade disinfection, and the air is treated with a PetAirapy UV disinfection system.

What is the training approach?

The team works with positive reinforcement, and its own site describes training as something that should be fun for both dog and owner. Listed certifications include the CPDT-KA and the CTC, a Certificate in Training and Counseling from the Academy for Dog Trainers. That makes Pooch Pawsitive a good match for owners who want daycare days to double as practice for a new puppy.
