Northland Boarding

Northland Boarding is a dog boarding and daycare facility at 5175 N Tischer Rd in Duluth, MN, set on 22 acres in Lakewood township. Owners searching for dog boarding in Duluth with a quieter, country feel will find a kennel that has served the community for over 35 years.

What is the setup like for boarding dogs?

Each dog gets an individual indoor kennel with its own private outdoor run. Those runs connect to four large play yards, which staff rotate dogs through for exercise and socialization. The kennel describes the property as quiet and peaceful, a place where dogs can play, make friends, or simply rest.

Can dogs with special needs stay here?

Yes. Northland Boarding cares for blind and deaf dogs and can give medications during a stay. Special diets are accommodated, and the house food is Fromm All Natural Adult. Dogs of every size are welcome, from small breeds up to giant ones.

How are dogs introduced to each other?

New pairings start with a supervised meet-and-greet before dogs play together. The kennel's own description stresses going slowly and keeping safety first. Owners of shy or selective dogs may want to talk through their dog's temperament when they call.
