Amity Valley Kennels

Amity Valley Kennels is a Duluth, MN kennel offering dog boarding, doggy daycare, and grooming, with a separate facility for cats. The owner's residence is attached to the kennel, which gives it a hands-on, close-to-home feel that many owners look for.

What does a typical day look like for a boarded dog?

Dogs are walked or carried outside three to five times a day and placed in a run. On bad-weather days, indoor play areas give them room to move. The boarding areas are air-conditioned and heated. Pets are fed twice daily, and the kennel provides the food unless a dog is on a prescription diet.

Can the kennel handle dogs with medical needs?

Yes, and this is one of its strengths. Staff give insulin injections, provide post-operative care, and change bandages. Medication administration and special diets are also part of the service. That matters if your dog is older, diabetic, or recovering from surgery.

Services at a glance

What about cats?

Cats stay in a separate facility, away from the dogs. Each cat gets time in an exercise room every day, so they aren't confined to a kennel around the clock.

How do you book a stay?

Reservations are made by phone at 218-525-1108. Proof of vaccination is required, so have your pet's records ready when you call. The kennel's website encourages owners to bring a few of their pet's own belongings to make the stay feel more like home. More details are posted at amitykennels.com.
