Lauriepaws

Lauriepaws offers in-home dog boarding in Salem, Oregon, along with daycare, and it serves small dogs under 25 pounds only. The service runs out of a private home at 1425 D St. NE and takes no more than four dogs at a time.

What is a stay at Lauriepaws like?

Dogs stay in a house, not a kennel building, and they are never caged. They spend the day between the indoor living space and a private backyard, with someone supervising around the clock. The website describes the setup as quiet and home-like. It says this suits nervous dogs, older dogs, and dogs with separation anxiety that struggle in loud, busy facilities.

Why does the small-dog-only rule matter?

A small dog sharing space with only three other small dogs avoids being outsized by big, rowdy playmates. With so few guests, staff can keep each dog's feeding and potty routine close to what it follows at home. Puppies of all ages are welcome, which is less common at boarding facilities.

Practical details for owners

Boarding costs $85 per night, and multi-dog households receive a discount. Lauriepaws is open from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM every day of the week. That makes evening pickups realistic after a late dinner or a day trip. Current vaccinations are required for every guest. Reservations are made online, and questions can go to (503) 871-8951.

Because only four dogs can stay at once, open dates may fill quickly around holidays. Owners planning a trip should book well ahead.
