Kamp K-9

Kamp K-9 is a dog boarding kennel in Alma, Arkansas, taking overnight and extended-stay dogs of every size at 140 East Elm Blvd. It opened to the River Valley in August 2013. The kennel sits in Kibler, about ten minutes south of I-40.

What a stay looks like

Each camper gets an individual cabin with a bed, blankets, and toys. The cabins are Priefert kennels with tops, built in 4x4, 4x8, 5x5, and 5x10 sizes, so big dogs still get room to stretch out. Dogs head outside for several playtimes a day in fenced play areas, grouped by size. A dog who doesn't get along with others gets individual outdoor time instead, as long as the owner mentions it when booking. Households with more than one dog can request a large shared cabin.

Practical details

Boarding runs $25 per night for one dog, with 10% off stays of 10 to 20 nights and 20% off stays of 21 nights or more. Owners bring their dog's own food to keep digestion steady, plus current vaccination records for the file. Bedding is better left at home.

Lobby hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday. Wednesday is limited to two short windows, 8:00 to 8:30 and 11:30 to 12:00. Saturday is closed, and Sunday is pickup only from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. All drop-offs and pickups are scheduled appointments within those hours, and there is no checking in or out during major holidays. The Kamp does not host drop-in visits or tours; facility photos are posted on its Facebook page.
