Dogwoods Lodge

Dogwoods Lodge is a dog boarding and daycare facility at 2960 SE Grimes Blvd in Grimes, Iowa, serving the Des Moines area. The same building holds a grooming salon and training programs, so lodging, play, a bath, and manners work all happen in one place.

What a stay looks like

Dogs staying overnight get five to six outings a day, daily room cleaning, and a health check each night. The play yards include pools and hoses for dogs that like water. Live cams let owners check in on their dog during the stay. Climate control and an advanced UV air sanitation system cover the indoor areas, and private suites are available.

Safety and credentials

The fences stand eight feet tall with fail-safes built in for climbers and diggers. Dogwoods Lodge has taken The Dog Gurus Safety Pledge and holds memberships with the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, the International Association of Canine Professionals, and the International Boarding & Pet Services Association. It has also been recognized in the Best of Des Moines awards from 2014 through 2025.

Hours and booking

The lodge runs 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday is a shorter window, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Reservations and questions go through (515) 986-7387 or dogwoodslodge.com.
