Canine Country Club of Arkansas

Canine Country Club of Arkansas runs dog boarding and daycare out of 26807 Goodson Road in Roland, AR, just outside West Little Rock. Owner Anita Sedberry opened the club in November 2004 after searching central Arkansas for an outdoor-focused kennel and coming up empty. There is a second location in Benton, but the Roland site is the original.

What dogs actually do here

Days center on 4.5 fenced acres of private off-leash play space. The best-known piece is the 2.5-acre Play Trail, which includes Top Dog Hill and an inground saltwater pool. When weather pushes everyone indoors, there is The Clubhouse, a 10,000-square-foot climate-controlled building with turf flooring. Small dogs, senior dogs, and dogs who would rather not share get their own separate areas.

What to know before booking

Overnight guests sleep on PetCot or Kuranda beds, and kennels are cleaned daily. Meals can be tailored to a dog's dietary needs. The requirements are firm: dogs must be spayed or neutered by 24 months, and females under that age who have had a heat cycle wait six weeks after the cycle ends. Required vaccinations are rabies, DHLPP, bordetella every six months, and both canine flu strains.

Daycare at the Roland location is $28 per day. Boarding starts at $50 per night for the first dog, with lower per-dog rates when multiple dogs stay together. Holiday and peak occupancy weeks add $6 per night per dog. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
