Bennetts Creek Home Away From Home

Bennetts Creek Home Away From Home is a boarding and daycare facility at 3509 Bridge Road in Suffolk, VA, with veterinarians and a medical team on site. For owners comparing dog boarding in Suffolk, that medical backup is the main thing that sets it apart. Cats board here too, but in a separate area from the dogs.

What boarding options are available?

The kennel accepts small, medium, and large dogs. Owners can choose standard boarding or the K-9 Luxury VIP Suites. The suites have raised bedding, extra-large kennels, and views of the front yard and lake. All boarding areas are temperature-controlled, and webcams let owners check on their dog while they're away. Published rates run from $36 to $71 per night.

• Overnight boarding in standard kennels or private VIP suites
• Daycare and day boarding, with multi-day passes
• Webcam viewing for clients
• Medication given during the stay
• Bathing and grooming

Why choose boarding with vets on site?

The facility describes its approach as boarding combined with complete veterinary care. Because the medical team works on the premises, a dog that needs daily medication or close monitoring has help nearby if something changes. That makes it a good fit for older dogs or dogs with ongoing health needs. Owners of healthy, easygoing dogs still get the same setup, along with daycare for shorter stays.

Practical details

Stays are booked by phone at (757) 484-0202. Vaccinations are required for boarding, so it helps to have your dog's records ready before you call. Weekday hours are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. On Saturday the facility is open 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, and on Sunday only from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. That short Sunday window is worth planning around if a trip ends on the weekend.
