Barkaritaville Pet Resort

Barkaritaville Pet Resort is a dog boarding and daycare facility at 6617 Jefferson Street in Corpus Christi, TX. It offers overnight stays, doggie daycare, grooming and training under one roof. Cats can board here too, which helps households with more than one kind of pet.

What services does Barkaritaville offer?

The resort describes itself as a full-service, fun and enriching home away from home for pets. Its main services and amenities include:

• Luxury pet hotel lodging with indoor/outdoor accommodations
• Doggie daycare with indoor play areas and outdoor space
• Professional grooming, plus a 24-hour self-serve DIY dog wash
• Dog training
• Medication administration for dogs that need it

Cats stay in their own area, called Catmandu. There is also a retail shop on site for owners who need supplies.

What makes it different from a basic kennel?

A few features go beyond the basics. The building uses PetAirapy UV air sanitizing, and it has live 24/7 security and fire monitoring. The resort also runs a Healthy Pet Program that covers applicable vet fees, which is worth asking about before a longer stay.

Barkaritaville holds the Certified Professional Animal Care Operator (CPACO) certification. Its own description puts weight on enrichment and on building a real relationship with each pet and owner.

How do booking and requirements work?

Reservations are made online, and the Corpus Christi phone line is (361) 814-2275. Vaccinations are required for every guest, so owners should confirm the current list with the resort before booking. Both luxury and traditional boarding options are offered, which gives owners some range depending on their dog and budget.
