Almost Home WV Doggie Daycare, Boarding and Grooming

Tucked just off Teays Valley Road in Hurricane, West Virginia, Almost Home WV Doggie Daycare, Boarding and Grooming is a small, family-run facility owned and operated by Connie Breck, a retired Putnam County teacher who turned her love of children into a passion for caring for dogs. Since opening in July 2023, Connie and her team have focused on giving every dog the same personal attention she once gave her students, treating each visitor like one of her own pets.

The facility limits overnight boarding to just 20 dogs at a time, keeping the environment calm and manageable. Dogs enjoy both indoor space and a large, covered outdoor yard that is regularly treated for fleas and ticks, and overnight guests rest in one of five separate rooms sorted by size and temperament rather than being confined to cages, with beds, couches, and chairs available for sleeping.

Peace of Mind

Almost Home asks new clients to complete a registration and evaluation appointment before their dog's first stay, and encourages short trial visits so dogs feel comfortable before a longer boarding stint. All boarding and daycare guests must be up to date on vaccinations, and male dogs are expected to be neutered by 18 months old.
