Woofdorf Astoria

Woofdorf Astoria is a cage-free dog boarding and daycare facility at 1308 18th Street in Racine, Wisconsin. Boarding dogs stay in private suites instead of kennels, and daycare dogs split their time between indoor play and outdoor space. The facility also puts real focus on senior and special-needs dogs, which sets it apart from a typical dog hotel.

What services does Woofdorf Astoria offer?

The services cover overnight stays, daytime play and basic upkeep. Owners who like to check in while they're away can use the webcam access.

• Cage-free boarding in private suites with a cot and blankets
• Doggy daycare with indoor play and outdoor space
• Grooming services
• Medication administration by staff
• Webcam access so owners can check on their dog

Is it a good fit for older or special-needs dogs?

This is where Woofdorf Astoria stands out. The staff specializes in senior and special-needs dogs, and older boarders get memory foam mattresses instead of the standard cot. Staff can give medications, and dogs are supervised 24/7, so a dog with a medication schedule is in experienced hands.

Small dogs have their own separate outdoor areas. That helps if a little dog gets overwhelmed around bigger, rowdier playmates.

What should owners know before booking?

Every dog has to pass a temperament test, and vaccinations are required. Bookings are made by phone at (262) 636-9663. Boarding runs $50 to $70 per night, depending on the option chosen.

Owners with more than one dog, or who board or use daycare often, can buy multi-dog and multi-day packs. Military members, first responders and seniors get a 10% discount. For dog boarding in Racine with webcam access and staff experienced with older dogs, Woofdorf Astoria is worth a call.
