Westside Animal Clinic

Westside Animal Clinic is a veterinary clinic at 1525 9th Ave SW in Watertown, SD, that also offers dog boarding and cat boarding. Because pets stay inside a working animal hospital, a vet is on site during the stay. Staff can also give medication while you're away.

What is boarding like at Westside Animal Clinic?

Boarding guests stay in spacious indoor rooms with natural light. Dogs get generously sized kennels and crates. Cats have their own condos with resting shelves, so they aren't stuck in a plain cage for the whole visit.

The clinic says it designed the building around keeping pets comfortable and safe. Its site describes a calm setting with plenty of daylight. For exercise, dogs have a large outdoor area enclosed by an 8-foot privacy fence.

Why choose a vet clinic for boarding?

The main draw is medical backup. If a dog gets sick or hurt during a stay, care is already in the building, and the clinic offers 24-hour emergency service. That matters most for older dogs, pets on daily medication, or owners heading out of town for more than a few days.

Highlights include:

• Indoor boarding for both dogs and cats
• Large outdoor exercise area with an 8-foot privacy fence
• On-site veterinary care and 24-hour emergency service
• Medication given during the stay
• Laser therapy and a full-service pharmacy
