Wagtime

Wagtime is a dog boarding and daycare facility at Two Hopkinton Road in Westborough, MA, built around group play in large outdoor yards. Dogs here spend much of their time outside with other dogs instead of waiting alone in a run. The kennel is open 365 days a year, including holidays, and accepts dogs from small breeds up to giant ones.

What does a stay at Wagtime look like?

The center of the operation is an outdoor play area of more than 40,000 square feet, which Wagtime describes as the largest in Central Massachusetts. Dogs are grouped by size and personality, so playmates are matched with some thought. At least one pack handler works in every play yard.

Rest is structured too. At naptime and bedtime, each dog settles into an individual ventilated crate while classical music plays. A staff member resides on-site overnight every night, so boarding dogs are supervised around the clock.

What services and amenities are offered?

• Overnight boarding and dog daycare
• More than 40,000 square feet of outdoor play space
• 24/7 supervision, with a staff member on-site overnight
• Medication administration
• Special diets accommodated

What should new clients know before booking?

Every new dog has to complete an Evaluation Day before joining the group. Vaccinations are required, so it makes sense to ask which records to bring when calling.

Boarding runs $65 to $72 per night, according to the rates published on the kennel's website. Reservations are made by phone at (508) 366-7364, and questions can go to info@wagtimema.com.

Who is Wagtime a good fit for?

Wagtime suits social dogs that do well in a group and need real exercise during a stay. Owners who travel over holidays may value the year-round schedule. Dogs on medication or a special diet can be accommodated as well. The required Evaluation Day also gives staff a chance to meet a new dog before a longer stay.
