Wag Along Pet Care

Wag Along Pet Care is an in-home dog boarding and daycare service in Portland, Oregon, where dogs stay in a private home rather than a traditional kennel. It takes dogs of every size, from small breeds to giant ones. The setup suits owners who want their dog to keep a familiar routine and get personal attention while they're away.

What services does Wag Along Pet Care offer?

• Cage-free overnight boarding in a home setting
• Weekday daycare with indoor play and yard time
• Medication administration for dogs that need it
• Gentle introductions for puppies
• Photo, video and text updates during stays

How is it different from a kennel?

The care is home-based and cage-free, so dogs spend their time in a house and yard instead of kennel runs. A securely fenced yard has a doggie door built for dogs of all sizes. That means free indoor and outdoor access: dogs can go out to play when they feel like it and come back in to rest.

The days mix ball chasing and social time with quiet naps in comfy spots around the house. Each boarder gets a raised bed with cozy bedding. The focus stays on personal attention and keeping each dog on a routine it knows.

Practical details for Portland owners

Boarding costs $65 per night, according to the business's website. Business hours are 6:15 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. New clients start with a meet-and-greet before the first stay, so the dog can get used to the place and the owner can ask questions.

Wag Along Pet Care is licensed, bonded and insured. To ask about availability or set up a meet-and-greet, call (503) 290-6470.
