The Coventry School for Dogs & Their People

The Coventry School for Dogs & Their People is a dog day camp and training school on Oakland Mills Road in Columbia, MD. Owners comparing dog daycare in Columbia will find an enrichment-based camp here, plus puppy programs and classes built on science-based positive reinforcement.

What is day camp like at Coventry?

The day camp is built around enrichment and learning rather than open free play. Dogs are sorted into temperament-matched playgroups, so a shy dog isn't dropped in with the rowdiest crowd. The school frames camp as a place to build confidence and good manners that carry over at home.

What services does Coventry offer?

Training is the core of this place, and the daycare runs on the same approach. Key offerings include:

• Enrichment-based dog day camp with temperament-matched playgroups
• Month-long Prep School programs for puppies and teens
• Expert-led group classes for all ages and levels, including nose work and agility
• Private dog training
• Indoor play space

Who works with the dogs?

The training team includes CPDT-KA certified trainers. The school also lists Fear Free Certified, CDBC, and CNWI credentials among its staff. Every program uses science-based positive reinforcement methods, and Coventry is recommended by veterinarians and veterinary behaviorists.

How does Coventry handle safety and cleanliness?

New dogs go through an evaluation and must meet vaccination requirements before joining camp. Crates and playrooms are sanitized every day. For owners of nervous or reactive dogs, that careful screening and grouping may matter as much as the play itself.
