Preston Country Club for Pets

Preston Country Club for Pets is a traditional dog boarding kennel at 7363 Old Columbia Rd in Columbia, Maryland. It also boards cats and runs grooming services on site. The facility sits on 16 acres and accepts dogs of every size, from small breeds up to giant ones.

What is a typical stay like?

The kennel focuses on simple daily comforts. Dogs spend time in well-equipped play yards with social direction from staff, and they can use the outside patios. Inside, skylights and picture windows bring in natural light, and mood music plays through the day.

Small touches fill out the routine. Each guest has a fresh water setup, and there is a biscuit break every mid-afternoon. The site describes a bright, open layout where dogs stay in view of the people caring for them.

What services does it offer?

• Overnight boarding for small, medium, large and giant dogs
• Cat boarding in carpeted two-tier condos
• Grooming on site
• Pet pickup and drop-off service
• Medication administration and special diets

Can it handle special care needs?

Staff can give medications and follow a special diet during a stay. That makes it a practical option for older dogs or pets on a set feeding plan. Owners should call ahead to go over the details before drop-off.

Practical details

Reservations are made by phone at 301-596-7387. Vaccinations are required for boarding guests, so it is worth having records ready when calling. Business hours are 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Sunday.

Boarding is priced per night, with rates on the kennel's website running from $36 to $55. Owners can ask which rate applies to their dog when they book. Since the kennel takes both dogs and cats, households with more than one kind of pet can keep everyone at the same Columbia address.
