The Country Pup

The Country Pup is a cage-free, in-home dog boarding and daycare service at 34 Artillery Road in Woodbury, CT. Dogs stay in a private home instead of a kennel. Overnight guests are limited, so evenings stay quiet.

What services does The Country Pup offer?

The business does more than overnight stays. Owners can choose care at the host's home, in their own home, or out on local walks and hikes.

• Cage-free overnight boarding in a home setting
• Doggie daycare with outdoor play
• In-home overnight pet sitting at the owner's house
• Neighborhood walks and hiking adventures
• Cat sitting and drop-in visits

What is a stay like?

The Country Pup describes a relaxed countryside routine with lots of personal attention and fresh air. Dogs play in a secure outdoor area enclosed by a 6-foot fence. Owners get daily photos or videos, so they can see how their dog is settling in. Medication can be given during the stay for dogs that need it.

Because the number of guests is kept small, the house stays calm at bedtime. That quieter setup may suit dogs who find busy boarding facilities stressful.

What if my dog does better at home?

Some dogs are happiest in familiar surroundings. For them, the service offers overnight pet sitting in the owner's own home. The site describes this option as a good fit for senior dogs, puppies, and anxious pets who would rather not leave their routine.

How do I get started?

Every new client starts with a required initial consultation, and it costs nothing. Pickup and drop-off options are available for owners who can't handle transport themselves. To ask about availability in Woodbury, the easiest route is the contact information on thecountrypup.com.
