Summit Pet Care

Summit Pet Care offers dog boarding and doggy daycare at 810 NW Commerce Dr. in Lee's Summit, Missouri, with grooming and cat boarding under the same roof. Owners comparing dog boarding in Lee's Summit will find a large facility here, with 104 dog kennels and plenty of space for dogs to get moving during the day.

What do dogs do during a stay?

The setup is built around activity. The property has nine exercise yards plus indoor play space, so bad weather doesn't end playtime. Daycare and boarding guests can climb on Playskool play equipment and swim in an indoor heated pool. The kennel's own website puts a lot of weight on play and enrichment, and the layout backs that up.

• 104 dog kennels with indoor and outdoor runs
• Nine exercise yards and indoor play areas
• Indoor heated pool and Playskool equipment
• On-site veterinarian for emergencies
• Grooming and pet supplies

How are dogs grouped?

Staff separate dogs by size and temperament. That matters if your dog is small, older, or just not a fan of crowds. The kennel describes this as a way to make boarding work even for dogs that don't mix well with others.

What sets it apart?

The biggest practical difference is the on-site veterinarian, available for emergencies. Nobody wants to picture a medical problem while they're out of town. Still, it helps to know a vet is on the property if one comes up.
