Springdale Kennels

Springdale Kennels is a dog boarding and daycare facility at 520 Giuffrida Ave in San Jose, offering overnight stays, daytime play and grooming in one place. The kennel has been in business for over 50 years. It accepts dogs of every size, from small breeds up to giant ones.

What are the runs and play areas like?

Boarding dogs stay in runs that measure 8, 15 or 20 feet. Small dogs get indoor runs, while the larger runs are covered indoor/outdoor spaces. Every run has a heated sleeping area, and the facility is climate controlled.

For exercise, there are five separate play yards plus indoor play space. Staff group dogs by size and temperament, so each dog plays with others of a similar build and personality.

What sets Springdale apart?

The biggest difference is medical support. Springdale has two in-house veterinarians on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Staff can also give medications and handle special diets, which matters for owners of older dogs or dogs with ongoing health needs. The kennel's own website describes pets as family members and promises the same love and attention they get at home.
