Smart Dog Dallas

Smart Dog Dallas is a dog boarding and daycare facility at 326 Rock Island St in Dallas, close to both Downtown Dallas and Oak Cliff. Beyond overnight stays, it also offers training, grooming, and pickup and drop-off service. Dogs of every size are welcome, from small breeds up to giants.

What does a boarding stay look like?

The facility describes its boarding as a home-like schedule. Each dog has its own crate for downtime, and the day is built around open group play with dogs of similar size and temperament. Play happens in both outdoor space and climate-controlled indoor areas, which helps during a hot Texas summer.

The team puts a lot of weight on good dog manners and on keeping a dog's brain busy, which fits the training side of the business. Owners who want more than a place to park their dog for a weekend may like that approach.

What should owners know before booking?

New dogs go through a temperament evaluation first. This observation day lets staff see how a dog handles group play before it joins in. Current vaccinations are required for every dog.
