Shamrock Ranch Kennels

Shamrock Ranch Kennels is a family-owned dog boarding and daycare operation in Pacifica, CA, sitting on 200 acres of open space in a coastal valley. The same family has owned and run it since 1939. Staff are on site 24 hours a day, so someone is on the property around the clock.

What sets the ranch apart

The land does a lot of the work here. Instead of one warehouse-style building, the kennels are spread across the ranch, and every building is heated with indoor/outdoor runs, so dogs can step outside without being walked out first. Each dog gets a raised cot and bedding. Small dogs stay in their own building, called Smallville, separate from the larger dogs.

Group play is booked in blocks rather than by the full day, which lets owners match the amount of play to what their dog actually enjoys.

Practical details

Published boarding rates run from $78 to $115 per night, depending on the package. The office is open 9 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday and 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
