Rio Gran

Rio Gran is a dog boarding, daycare, and training facility at 16440 Fischer Ave in Hastings, Minnesota. It accepts dogs of every size, from small breeds to giants, and also boards cats in their own kitty condos.

What are the boarding suites like?

Dogs stay in cage-free, climate-controlled private suites. Each suite is 100 square feet and split into two rooms, with separate areas for sleeping, exercise, and potty breaks. A music system plays throughout the building, part of the calm, homelike feel the kennel aims for.

What makes Rio Gran different?

Space is the big one. The property has two outdoor play areas covering more than 15,000 square feet, plus indoor play space for days when the weather won't cooperate. Three fenced potty areas let dogs go off-leash. Senior dogs can stay in geriatric suites set aside for older guests, which is worth asking about if your dog is slowing down.

Key services and amenities:

• Overnight boarding in two-room private suites
• Dog daycare with indoor and outdoor play
• Training and grooming services
• Medication administration and special diets
• Private three-tier condos for cats

What does it cost and how do you book?

Published nightly rates run from $28 to $46. The Rio Rewards loyalty program makes every 20th day free, and households with more than one pet can get multi-pet discounts. Reservations are made online, and vaccinations are required before a stay.

When is Rio Gran open?

Hours are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Saturday. On Sundays the doors open only from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, so plan any Sunday visit around that short window. Questions can go to 651-480-1122 or boarding@riogran.net.
