Paws Up Training

Paws Up Training is a dog trainer in West Valley City, Utah, that offers in-home dog boarding alongside board-and-train programs. Dogs stay in a low-stress home environment instead of a traditional kennel, and the focus on training continues through the whole stay.

What does boarding look like here?

Boarding at Paws Up Training happens in a home, not a row of kennel runs. The site describes one-on-one time with each dog and a stay that keeps structure and boundaries in place. That way, good habits from training don't slip while the owner is away. Owners get weekly photo and video updates during the stay.

What services are offered?

• In-home boarding in a low-stress home setting
• Board-and-train programs, including puppy and obedience training
• Pick-up and drop-off service, including airport transport
• Weekly photo and video updates
• Free phone consultations

What sets it apart?

Training is the heart of this business, and the boarding grows out of it. Paws Up Training lists several credentials: graduate of the NePoPo® Silver School, accreditations from the Canine-Human Relationship Institute and Joel Silverman Dog Training, membership in the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), and certification as an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator.

The website reads as warm and practical rather than salesy. Its stated goal is to strengthen the bond between owners and their dogs and to give dogs skills they can use once they're back home. Owners with a dog who needs both care and some structure may find that a good fit.

How do owners book?

Booking is by phone at (385) 202-4855. General questions can also go to PawsUpSLC@Gmail.com. A free phone consultation is a sensible first step for owners deciding between a plain boarding stay and a board-and-train program.
