Muddy Paws Pet Store

Muddy Paws Pet Store is a neighborhood pet store at 3700 Hampton Blvd in Norfolk, VA, that also offers overnight boarding, doggie daycare, and grooming. Owners searching for dog boarding in Norfolk will find cat boarding under the same roof, which helps households with both.

What does a boarding stay look like?

Dogs that board here spend their days with the daycare group in indoor and outdoor play yards. In summer, wading pools and splash pads give them a way to cool off. Each night ends with a turn-down service of fresh cots, blankets, and bowls. Supervision is 24/7, so someone is on hand overnight too.

• Overnight dog and cat boarding
• Daycare with indoor and outdoor play yards
• Grooming on site
• Medication administration for pets that need it
• Dedicated cat runs with bedding and a litter box

What sets it apart?

Because it doubles as a pet store, owners can pick up food or supplies at drop-off or pickup. The website has a friendly, local tone and describes the staff as neighbors as much as a business. Longer stays come with a small perk. Pets boarding five or more nights get a complimentary "Bon Voyage" bath before heading home.

Families with more than one pet can ask about multi-dog and multi-cat discounts. Military members and ODU students get 10% off, which matters in a city with a large Navy presence and a university down the road.

Practical details

Boarding costs $55 to $60 per night, according to the kennel's website. Reservations are made by phone at 757-965-9702. Business hours are 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM Monday through Friday and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, and the business is closed on Sunday. Proof of current vaccinations is required before any pet can stay, so it's worth having records ready when calling.
