Misty Glen Country Retreat for Dogs

Misty Glen Country Retreat for Dogs is a boarding kennel and doggy daycare at 28130 Center Ridge Road in Westlake, Ohio, built around off-leash group play. For owners comparing dog boarding in Westlake, the main draw is space. The property covers five tree-filled country acres with farm views and plenty of wildlife for dogs to watch.

What does a typical day look like?

Dogs spend their days playing off leash in groups instead of waiting in a run. The grounds include over 5,000 square feet of fenced, turfed outdoor play areas. There is also climate-controlled indoor play space for days when the weather doesn't cooperate. Big dogs and little dogs play in separate groups, split at 35 pounds.

How does overnight boarding work?

Boarding guests eat their meals and sleep in their own private indoor kennel. Each kennel space is cleaned and refreshed twice a day, and dogs sleep on raised cots with fleece blankets. Overnight stays run from $58 to $98 per night, according to the kennel's website.

Which dogs is it a good fit for?

The setup suits social dogs that like to run with a group and spend time outside. Small, medium and large dogs are all accepted. Puppy socialization starts at 12 weeks of age, so younger dogs can get used to group play early. Owners whose dogs need medication or a special diet can arrange both here.
