Middletown Mutt Mansion

Middletown Mutt Mansion is an in-home, crate-free dog boarding and daycare service in Middletown, Rhode Island. Dogs stay in a private home instead of a kennel building. They have the run of the house and a fenced yard for play.

What is a stay like?

The setup is closer to staying with a house sitter than with a traditional kennel. There are no crates, and dogs move freely around the home. The owners say dogs pick their own place to sleep, whether that's a dog bed, the couch or a bedroom with the family. When it's time to burn off energy, there's a fenced yard to run in.

Services and amenities

• Overnight dog boarding in a family home
• Doggy day care
• Crate-free care with the run of the house
• Fenced outdoor yard for running and play
• Meet-and-greets for local dogs

Who is it a good fit for?

This setup will probably suit dogs that are relaxed around people and other dogs in a home. Owners who want their dog to keep something like a normal household routine, rather than spending the stay in a run or suite, may find it appealing. Local owners can set up a meet-and-greet first to see how their dog reacts to the house and the other dogs staying there.
