EC Petcare

EC Petcare is a small Portland, OR pet care business that offers private dog boarding in a home environment, along with pet sitting, dog walking, and training. For owners comparing dog boarding in Portland, the main difference is simple: only one household's dogs are boarded at a time, so a dog isn't mixed in with other clients' pets.

What does boarding at EC Petcare look like?

Stays are cage-free and happen in a home rather than a kennel building. Care follows positive reinforcement, force-free methods, which the team describes as humane and fitted to each pet's personality and habits. Before a longer stay, the business offers a trial overnight to make sure the arrangement is a good fit.

• Private, one-household-at-a-time in-home boarding
• Cage-free stays with force-free handling
• Medication administration
• Dog and puppy training

Which dogs is it a good fit for?

EC Petcare says its boarding suits senior dogs, puppies, and dog-reactive dogs. Reactive dogs often have a hard time in busy group kennels, so a private home setup can make a real difference for them. Owners of anxious or reactive dogs may want to book the trial overnight first.

What credentials does the team hold?

Caregivers are Pet CPR certified, bonded, and insured, and the business carries full-coverage pet insurance. There is a CPDT-KA certified trainer on staff. Other listed credentials include Pet Professional Guild (PPG) membership and certification as an Animal Behavior College Certified Force Free Dog Trainer.
