Downtown Dog in the Country

Downtown Dog in the Country is a small kennel in Tulsa, Oklahoma, offering boarding, training and grooming on a regenerative farm. It takes no more than 15 dogs and the owners live onsite, so it suits owners who want low-stress dog boarding in Tulsa rather than a busy, high-volume facility.

What makes this kennel different?

The setting is the main draw. Dogs stay on a working regenerative farm, where farm animals add daily enrichment and handle pest control without chemicals. The kennel describes its approach as calm and structured: real smells, secure spaces and attention for every dog each day. The owners say they take a careful approach to dog-to-dog play and focus on keeping each stay safe and quiet.

What services and amenities are offered?

• Overnight boarding, including long-term stays
• Board and train, puppy training and service dog training
• Professional grooming
• Medication administration
• Climate-controlled indoor space with 24/7 supervision

What is the outdoor space like?

Dogs spend time in six large outdoor runs, a quarter-acre play yard and a network of prairie trails. The trails give dogs a varied, natural space to explore and sniff. Each dog follows its own daily routine instead of a one-size-fits-all schedule.

Practical details for owners

Boarding costs $30 to $40 per night, based on prices posted on the kennel's website. Clients can get a private login to the kennel's Blink camera system to check on their dog during a stay. Because the kennel never takes more than 15 dogs, owners planning holiday or summer travel should reach out early. The kennel's website and its Facebook and Instagram pages are the best places to ask about availability.
