Dog Day Afternoon

Dog Day Afternoon is a dog boarding and daycare facility in Orlando, FL, at 1015 Sligh Blvd. It takes dogs of every size, from small to giant, for overnight stays, daytime play, and training.

What an overnight stay looks like

Boarding guests sleep in individual, temperature-controlled apartments furnished with Kuranda beds and fleece blankets. Staff are on site through the night, so dogs are not left alone between evening and morning. Every stay includes daily playtime, and enrichment can be added on: fetch, pool time, food puzzles, or cuddle time.

How the play groups work

Groups stay small, two to twelve dogs, and are matched by temperament rather than by whoever happens to be on the schedule that day. There is indoor play space and outdoor space, and owners receive daily report card photos. The facility also keeps a hurricane ride-out plan, which is worth knowing about in Central Florida.

Who handles the dogs, and how to get started

Lauren Clark, an IAABC-certified trainer, works with the facility, and training is offered alongside daycare and boarding. Current vaccinations are required.
