Black Forest Animal Care

Black Forest Animal Care is a locally family-owned dog boarding kennel in Black Forest, Colorado, that also offers grooming. Owners who worry about nights away will notice its staffing first: someone is onsite 24 hours a day, and two staff members work overnight.

What services does Black Forest Animal Care offer?

The facility focuses on traditional boarding, with grooming available too. These are the points the kennel itself highlights:

• A spacious, comfortable boarding kennel
• Staff onsite 24 hours, with two working overnight
• Pet grooming
• Individualized care for special-needs pets
• Local family ownership and operation

What makes this kennel different?

The overnight coverage matters most. If a dog gets restless or unsettled at 2 a.m., two people are working on the property. For many owners, that alone decides whether a kennel makes the shortlist.

The kennel also offers individualized care for special-needs pets. Owners of senior dogs, or dogs with specific routines, should ask how that care would work for their own pet before booking.

The owners' writing on their website sets the tone. They describe treating clients' pets like family and giving each animal the same care and attention as their own. It reads like a small local operation, not a chain.
