Barkability

Barkability is a dog boarding and daycare facility at 10950 Three Chopt Road in Henrico, VA. It offers overnight stays in standard rooms or suites, plus daytime care for dogs who need company and exercise while their owners are busy. The kennel calls itself a home away from home, and its stated mission pairs loving care for dogs with real job opportunities for young adults.

What services does Barkability offer?

Barkability offers two main services: boarding and daycare. Dogs split their time between indoor play areas and fenced yards outside.

• Standard and suite overnight boarding
• Dog daycare
• Five secured outdoor play spaces
• Indoor play areas
• Discounts for multi-pet boarding

What makes this kennel different?

The mission is the clearest difference. Barkability says it aims to give dogs the love and attention they deserve. It also aims to help young adults with differing abilities develop job skills, build relationships, and be part of a caring community. For owners, a stay here supports that effort as well as their own dog.

The website's tone is warm and relaxed. It talks about giving dogs extra attention and fun rather than leading with rules or fine print.

What should owners know before booking?

Every dog must come for a free trial day before its first boarding stay. That gives the dog and the staff a low-pressure first meeting before an overnight visit.

Boarding costs $40 to $50 per night, depending on whether owners pick a standard room or a suite. Households boarding more than one dog can get a discount. Reservations are made online through the kennel's website.

Listed hours are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday and 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Before a trip, it's a good idea to confirm drop-off and pickup times by calling 804.997.2092 or emailing BarkAbility.org@gmail.com.
