Happy Camper Pet Lodge

Happy Camper Pet Lodge is a dog boarding and daycare facility at 7300 Impala Drive in Richmond, VA. It offers overnight stays, daycamp, grooming, and training. The building is staffed 24 hours a day, so boarders are never left alone overnight, and the staff are pet CPR certified.

What services does Happy Camper offer?

The lodge handles most of what an owner needs under one roof:

• Overnight boarding in basic kennels or luxury suites
• Daycare for dogs who need company and exercise during the day
• Grooming and training
• Medication administration and special diet handling

What is a typical stay like?

Boarders get four potty breaks and three scheduled feedings each day, which helps keep them close to their routine at home. Bedding and blankets are provided. The luxury suites add a TV, a large window, and comfy beds for dogs who settle better in a homier space.

Dogs exercise across six outdoor play yards, and there is an indoor play area for rainy or snowy days. The building is climate controlled and fitted with smoke and heat detectors. On its website, the lodge says it wants a stay to feel like a vacation for the dog, with patient, gentle care from the staff.

What does it cost and how do you book?

Overnight boarding runs from $35 to $50 per night, based on prices published on the kennel's website. Reservations are made by phone at 804-308-8191. General questions can also go to info@happycamperpetlodge.com.

Dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations before they can stay. If a dog takes medication or eats a special diet, the owner should bring it up when calling to book.

When is the lodge open?

Happy Camper Pet Lodge is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Sunday hours are much shorter, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Owners planning a weekend pickup in Richmond should check those hours before they go.
