Los Angeles County Animal Care & Control

Los Angeles County Animal Care & Control (DACC) is dedicated to serving the unincorporated areas of the county and various contracted cities with essential animal care services. With a focus on animal welfare and community safety, DACC operates seven animal care centers in Agoura, Baldwin Park, Carson/Gardena, Castaic, Downey, Lancaster, and Palmdale. Each center plays a vital role in providing shelter, adoption services, and resources for pet owners, striving to reunite lost pets with their families while addressing issues of neglect and abandonment.

The facilities feature a welcoming atmosphere where visitors can interact with a variety of animals ready for adoption. These centers are staffed with compassionate personnel who assist in animal adoptions, provide veterinary care, and offer advice on responsible pet ownership. Each location features:

• Public Viewing: Animals are available for adoption without appointments during regular business hours.
• Medical Services: Vaccinations, microchips, and spay/neuter programs to ensure pet health.
• Fostering Programs: Community members can foster pets, helping to alleviate overcrowding and improve animal health.

The centers are open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM and offer limited services on Sundays. During these hours, prospective pet owners can meet animals marked as 'Ready to Go Home,' making it simple to find their new furry companions.
