Wilderness Kennels

Wilderness Kennels is a family owned and operated dog boarding, training, and grooming facility at 2030 Saltillo Rd in Roca, NE. The same family has run the place since 1968. It takes both dogs and cats, and the kennel has a capacity of 102.

What a boarding stay includes

Each dog gets its own 20-foot run instead of sharing with other dogs. Every run has an indoor side and an outdoor side joined by a doggy door, so dogs move between the two whenever they want. Indoor space is climate controlled. Dogs are fed twice a day, and staff can give medication during a stay.

Training and grooming

Wilderness Kennels also works as a training kennel, covering obedience, gun dog, service dog, and guard dog work. Grooming is available on site as well, so a dog can be cleaned up before heading home.

Hours, rates, and booking

Published boarding rates run from $22 to $90 per day. Booking is done by phone at (402) 423-4212, and current vaccination records are required before a pet stays. The kennel is open 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday, and 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, which is worth planning around for weekend pickups.
