Wag With William

Wag With William is an in-home dog boarding and training business in Boston, MA, based at 40 Fisher Ave. It pairs overnight stays, called Staycations, with force-free, reward-based training from a trainer certified through the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). Only two dogs board at a time, so this is a very small operation and not a large kennel.

What does a stay look like?

Staycation overnight boarding includes long walks twice a day. Owners receive photo and video updates daily, which helps when you are away and wondering how your dog is settling in. Because no more than two dogs stay at once, the group remains small and the days stay calm.

• Overnight Staycation boarding in a home setting
• Two long walks every day
• Daily photo and video updates
• Positive reinforcement training from a CCPDT-certified trainer
• A maximum of two dogs at a time

How is the training approach different?

Training here is built on positive reinforcement. The website describes rewarding the behaviors an owner wants with food, praise and play, and it avoids fear or force to get cooperation. The tone is practical and a little playful, with a clear focus on showing dogs what to do instead of correcting what they get wrong. Owners who care about how their dog is handled during a stay will find that philosophy spelled out in plain terms.

What does it cost, and when can you reach them?

The website lists rates from $125 to $250 per night. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and the business is closed on Saturday and Sunday. With only two boarding spots, it makes sense to ask about dates well ahead of a trip. To check availability, call 336-986-5003 or email william@wagwithwilliam.com.
