Silver Spring Dog Training

Silver Spring Dog Training is an in-home dog boarding and training service in Silver Spring, MD, where dogs stay in a private home instead of a kennel. It takes only two dogs at a time, so each guest gets one-on-one attention from a CPDT-KA certified trainer. That small setup suits owners who want a quiet stay for a dog who doesn't enjoy crowds.

What is a boarding stay like?

Boarding dogs stay in a finished basement with a sofa bed and a TV. A privacy-fenced backyard has its own separate entrance, so potty breaks and play happen in a secure space. The business describes the setting as calm and homey. It adds lavender aromatherapy and a white-noise machine at night to help dogs settle.

What sets it apart from a typical kennel?

Training is at the center of this business. The trainer holds the CPDT-KA credential from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, and the approach is described as force-free and positive. Along with standard boarding, the service offers board and train, puppy training and behavior modification. That makes it a practical option for owners who want their dog to keep learning while they're away.
