Red Wing Kennels

Red Wing Kennels is a family-owned kennel in Sussex, Wisconsin, offering cage-free dog boarding and cat boarding on a 16-acre property off Lisbon Road. The owners live on-site, so care continues around the clock. Dogs of every size are accepted, from small breeds to giants.

What does a stay look like?

Each dog gets a private, climate-controlled indoor space with heated flooring. From there, a door leads to a covered individual outer run, so dogs can spend time outside without sharing a pen. The kennel describes its approach as structured and calm, built around daily movement and predictable routines rather than chaotic group play.

Key services and amenities:

• Cage-free private suites with climate control
• Covered individual outer runs on a 16-acre property
• Private one-on-one playtime sessions
• Bathing and nail trimming
• Medication administration and special diets

Who looks after the dogs?

A Certified Veterinary Technician is on staff, which is useful for owners whose dogs take regular medication. Because the owners live on the property, supervision runs 24/7. Special diets can be handled as well, so dogs can stick to their usual food.

What about cats?

Cats stay in Classic or Deluxe condos, and the Deluxe option offers floor-to-ceiling suites. That makes Red Wing a practical choice for households that need to board a dog and a cat at the same time.
