Play N Stay

Play N Stay is an all-indoor dog boarding and dog daycare facility on Spokane's Northside, at 724 W Rosewood Ave, one block north of Francis between Monroe and Wall. It has been open since 2001 and describes itself as Spokane's first dog daycare and boarding facility. Stays run from a single night to a month, and daycare is available for owners who want their dog exercised and socialized during the workday.

What the facility offers

The building is climate controlled throughout, heated and air conditioned 24 hours a day. The reasoning the business gives is comfort in any season, whether it is hot, cold, wet or windy. Flooring is fully rubber matted for traction and to reduce stress on dogs' joints. Play groups are split by size, age and activity level, and trained staff supervise them through the day, adjusting a dog's group as needed.

What it costs

Standard boarding is $40 per night. Optional activity packages start at $15 a day and add treats, daily play group and bedtime attention, running up to $58 per night for the Spoiled Rotten package. Daycare is $34 for a single visit, with five-day, ten-day and monthly options. A cash discount is offered.

Practical details

New daycare dogs begin with an Introductory Day, scheduled by phone, so staff can introduce them to the pack gradually. Reservations, care instructions and payments go through an online customer portal, available any hour. Play N Stay is open to the public Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and closed weekends, though staff are on site caring for boarding guests. Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccines are required, and the facility asks for records before arrival.
