Pet Suite Retreat

Pet Suite Retreat LC offers dog boarding, daycare, and cat boarding at 26245 Michigan Ave. in Inkster, MI, with a second location in Troy. Dogs of every size are accepted, from small breeds up to giants. The kennel is open 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week.

How dogs spend the day

Dogs are grouped by size and temperament rather than turned out together in one large pack. Dogs who do not enjoy other dogs get private individual play instead, with the same time outside. There are three outdoor play areas with digging spots and pools in summer, and dogs go out for seven to eight play periods a day. Indoor play space is available too, which counts for something in a Michigan February.

The facility itself

The dog runs are extra-large and topped, roughly 4x8 at the Inkster location and 4x10 in Troy. The building is climate-controlled and carries a full sprinkler and alarm system. Staff can administer medications and follow a dog's special diet, so senior dogs and dogs with medical needs are not a problem.
